Tasting Notes
Produced using a blend of grapes: 40% Aragonez, 40% Alicante Bouschet, 10% Touriga Nacional and 10% Syrah.
Vineyard Notes
The grapes are grown in a Continental Mediterranean climate in shale soil. Warm and dry days with large daily temperature amplitude.
Winemaker Notes
Born and raised in the Alentejo, Luís developed a strong connection to the land from an early age. After completing his studies and an internship in Sonoma County, it was at the age of 23 that Luís decided to start his own project. In 2004, he became the vintner of Adega do Monte Branco.
Food Pairing Notes
Compliments grilled white meats, red meats, charcuterie board meats and cheeses.
Production
Manual harvest. Total de-stemming. Pre-fermentation cold soaking for 2 days. Fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats at 26/27ºC. Aged 1 year in 300L French Oak Barrels (30% new).
